a group from UK has applied genome-wide RNAi and addressed
the effects of gene silencing in C. elegans. Basically,
they PCR and generated targetting constructs for about
16,757 of predicted C. elegans genes. The bacteria library
was fed to hermaphrodites and RNAi effects were analyzed as
"nonviable", "growth defects" and "viable post-embryonic
development", etc.
Refer to Nature 421:231 and 421:268 as well.
