pubmed search "proteomics, cancer biomarker", 10s of thousands of them per
year. FDA approves less than 1 per year. go figure.

I agree. Don't do cancer. Do something else. I was thinking maybe some rare
genetic diseases are worth trying. I can't provide an example, but I am
thinking something nobody has done will give you the freedom to explore
without intense pressure of competetion and you can build your career on it.

Actually, that's not my original intention.
NCI still pours tons of money into the field.
The problem is nobody can get fund for validation projects and the bar set
for "biomarker" is way too low.

The result can easily group pregnant women vs. non-pregnant women. LOL, even
himself was joking that he invented the most expensive pregnancy test in
the world.
The Y chromosome is gotta be generating some unique proteins. hehe

he must be looking at some steroid compounds. That's pretty established just
like these tests in olympics.
is there any proteinic sexual maker in the body fluid especially plasma? if
so, how reliable can they detect it?
I have some doubts.
PS: I just got some information that pregnancy test is actually looking at a protein. sorry for my ignorance.

I'm not in this particular field. But I guess anything related to prostate/
testicle should do it. Again, no one will spend time to test/develop such
thing anyway. hehe
