different from other places.
For a family that wants to buy a house in a good school district, the cost
is way higher in bay area than Texas or midwest, but not that different from
the NYC or DC area.

你太天真了吧。好多人老说什么什么地方的60k等价于bay area的 rent 100k, own
120k
之类的，其实那只能娱乐一下观众。什么生活指数，除了和住房有关的，根本各地就差不
了太多。加州，西雅图这些地方因为气候宜人其他生活开支还更低呢。回到住房，列出租
房和自住两种工资实在可笑。要是你买了房子，经济更拮据一点，难道就该给你加工资？
过几年你房子里build equity了，是不是还该还公司一些钱啊？这些房子贵的地方在未来
还是增值最可能的地区，除非当地经济人口结构发生变化。
房价高是会影响生活质量，但公司没有义务补这个差价。倒是各地税收的差别更有参考意
义。你查这种等价工资只能看看而已。
