Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP): Fellowship
Opportunity
6/24号报名截止
In 2015, the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), together with the NCI
Center for Strategic Scientific Initiatives, launched a new data science
fellowship program. After a successful first year, they are now recruiting
for the next round of fellows.
The program is the Big Data Scientist Training Enhancement Program (BD-STEP)
and it aims to provide opportunities for junior-level scientists/engineers
to engage in year-long, collaborative big data training and research with VA
clinicians at VA medical centers. The focus is hematology/oncology projects
that leverage the vast VA clinical data resources (more than 1 billion data
points). Please also see a recent OSTP blog post on the program.
· Attached is a brief description of the program, including details
specific to potential applicants. The program seeks postdoctoral fellows
from physical science, engineering, or related disciplines (to include
chemistry, physics, engineering disciplines, computer science, and
mathematics).
· Six VA sites have been selected as host sites (Boston, Buffalo,
Durham, Houston, Palo Alto, Seattle) and are recruiting for fellows to start
in October 2016.
Please feel free to share this information broadly. If you have any
questions, please direct them to Connie Lee (the BD-STEP program director,
[email protected]/* */) and Michelle Berny-Lang ([email protected]/* */).
