Faculty and Postdoctoral Positions at the Life Sciences Institute, Zhejiang
University
The Institute
The Life Sciences Institute of Zhejiang University (LSI-ZJU) was founded in
2009. Dr. Xin-Hua Feng was appointed as the founding director and Dr. Kun-
Liang Guan as the co-director. Located in the scenic city of Hangzhou, LSI
is now a world’s leading center of biological and biomedical research in
China.
As the first special academic zone of ZJU, LSI runs its own graduate program
and enjoys unparalleled freedom in research, personnel employment and
financial flexibility within the university. All research laboratories are
led by Principal Investigators (PIs) under a tenure-track system. LSI has
appointed a number of internationally renowned biological scientists from
diverse research background as the Scientific Advisory Board to evaluate the
research progress of PIs and offer constructive advice for the development
of LSI.
We aim at becoming the top life science research organization by recruiting
the top-tier scientists from the world to perform the most original and
solid research in fundamental life science and human health. For this goal,
LSI has established high standards in management and operation. We have also
built a collaborative relationship with other colleges of biomedical
research in the university, and other top life science research
organizations in China and abroad.
Currently, LSI houses five research centers covering major areas including
cancer biology, regenerative medicine, inflammation biology, systems biology
and structural biology. Cutting-edge techniques such as next-generation
sequencing, super-resolution microscopy, multi-color flow cytometry, small
animal in vivo imaging and a variety of shared resources are readily
available from core facilities overseen by experienced staff.
The past six years have witnessed remarkable progresses of LSI in team
building, scientific research, academic culture and facility services. To
support its burgeoning growth and build a top-notch research community, LSI
cordially invites outstanding scientists around the world to apply for
faculty and postdoctoral positions.
