黄军就没有做出婴儿来。用人的胚胎做实验是允许的，但是，必须遵循有关的法规。贺
建奎违反了法规。

Also, thalassemia anemia (family usually passing down the information so you
know to screen) cannot be controlled easily with current drugs. Therefore,
it could be a medical necessary procedure if it is properly approved.

He is not curing AIDS. Using anti-viral drugs, you can block maternal
transmission of HIV virus. You don't need to generate a literally a CCR5
knock-out human and medical unnecessary.

No, he doesn't solve the medical problem with the poorly gene-edited human i
.e. medical unnecessary. I can predict right now, the kids are going to die
of leukemia because he didn't sequence the entire genome. Also, based on the
data presented, the genetic modification and SELECTION are done poorly. If
I saw the same data, I will toss the embryo and re-do it. So clearly he is
not trained properly either...(he is not, he is more of a physicist and
probably don't even know how to do proper wet-lab).
I am not against gene-editing, but please find a better disease. There are
several of them out there that has no cure and we can identify the carriers.
If you want to talk about drug development, it is way more complicated than
just curing the disease. The first marketed gene therapy has total patient
of ONE, the company is not doing so well.
