For Richter fans, I recently got some private recordings of the great
Maestro.
The most precious ones are his performances of Rachmaninoff's transcription
of Kreisler's Liebesfreud and of Liszt's transcription of Erlkonig.
In his Notebook and Conversations, he said he generally abhors
transcriptions universally except for three exceptions, being Busoni's
transcription of Bach's Chaconne (if my memory serves me right),
Rachmaninoff's transcription of Kreisler's Liebersfreud, and Liszt's
transcrip
