I think it is not easy to find a job in the middle of the year, someone
suggested me to SUB after my
student teaching, I think it's a good idea. Since we just filed 485 and EAD
application in July, I might get
EAD card before next spring.
Does anybody know how to do Substitude teaching job?

今天就收到工卡了，不过还得在小学实习8个星期，只好等明年春天在开始用这工卡了

我们这里的做法是在SCHOOL DISTRICT网站上填表,再填一套表格交给学区人事部门,去
的时候要带上SSN和工作许可证件.他们做过背景调查以后,也觉得你合格了就会给你一
个sub number.
做sub的当天,请假的老师会留好一天的lesson plan,根据老师性格,有的会比较详细清
楚,有的就只是框架.先向小孩介绍一下自己,最好是把名字写在黑板上.小孩一般会喜欢
test sub,所以有出格的事一定要罚.上完课以后,给请假老师留一个note,讲一下当天都
有哪些做了,哪些没做,小孩的表现如何,如果罚了小孩,都是哪几个,怎么罚的(是time
out 5min,还是take away recess等等).

ykn，非常感谢你的介绍，很简单明了。跟我observe的sub说的一样。不过还是希望能
找到个正式工作。
这几天要去kodaly convention帮忙，我的advisor真是看的起我，让我明天preside 一
个session for a 有名的choir director，我估计她是星期天上午找不到人了。

问个问题.什么条件才能sub?如果是学生签证可以么?你们怎么在读书其间弄到工作许可
证的?什么是485 and EAD?长见识了.谢谢.

485 and EAD are immigration terms. If you are planning to stay in US, you
have to run through the gauntlets too.
Basically, sub-teaching is an entry level job not requiring professional
certification. An international person cannot apply for work permit to
become a sub-teacher. In order to be a sub, you have to be a citizen, green-
card holder, or a holder of employment authorization document (EAD).
