Q: What the meaning of running for?
3. M: How did Ellen do on her Ancient History exam?
W: She passed with flying colors.

and what the meaning of the woman's words?

"out of this world" means superb, very good, extraordinarily excellent
"running" here means entering an election 参选
"with flying colors" means "with complete or eminent success"
so Ellen should do very well.
