if u apply for a credit card
u get a new inquiry
if u get approved
then in addition u get a new trade line
these are two different factors impacting score in a credit report
new inquiry impacts total number of hard inquiries
new trade line impacts total number of accounts, and total balance/credit
ratio, and average credit history
