In response, the US State Department issued a warning to the Cameron-Clegg/
Windsor regime.
"The people of Britain are demanding democratic reform. The British regime
has no right to prevent the wishes of its own people. This illegal act must
not stand... You cannot have democracy where free speech does not exist. We
ask the British regime to refrain from stifling the media, including social
media. Furthermore, Cameron has lost all legitimacy and must step down
sooner, rather than later... his regime must go... it is time for talks
between the rebels and the regime so that a peaceful transition to democracy
can be made. The American people stand with the people of the United
Kingdom and hope their wishes for a transition to democracy are fulfilled..."
