I hired a Chinese PhD as my Design Engineer a few years back. He didn' t work hard at all and asked to leave early at 2-3pm at least one or two days per week. I always approved his early leave request. He was also careless when doing designs and always made simple mistakes. 160; I tried to help him by reviewing his work thoroughly. In front of me, he told me that he appreciated my help and mentoring. ; However, he then went HR to file a complaint - accusing me not happy when approving his early leave request, saying I should be smiling when asked to leave. WTF?!
