Yes! I got asked about the J form during interview. I explained to the officer that I did concurrent filing and in that case J form is not required. I also told her that my lawyer didn't prepare J form for me at all. Even the officer was not quite sure whether it's required. She tried call someone to confirm, but nobody answered. So she said she will send me a request in mail if she needs it. I had my interview this Monday. I'm waiting for her request... On a side note, I talked to my lawyer right before the interview to inquire about the J form. My lawyer told me that recently they were informed that interviewing officers are requesting J form. But unfortunately they were not able to get it ready before my interview... So my case may or may not be approved without the J form. But I suggest you have a J from with you anyways. I wish I had J form, so my case could have been approved on the spot. Hope it helps. Good luck!
My suggestion: 1. Bring a J Form if you can. 2. When the IO asks for J Form, tell the IO that J form is not required for the concurrent filing of 485 and 140. You need to print a copy of USCIS website about J Form https://www.uscis.gov/i-485supj and highlight the special instruction: "If you are filing Form I-485 together with a Form I-140 that names you as the principal beneficiary, you do not need to file Supplement J." 3. If Step 2 doesn't work and the IO insists to have a J Form, give the J Form to the IO. Several persons have reported that the submission of a J Form at the 485 interviews might delay their 485 approvals because the J Form needs to be approved first. But this varies case by case.
【在 G*****V 的大作中提到】 : Update - my case was approved yesterday, three days after the interview. No : RFE. : But still I suggest you prepare J form. Best of luck!
