Hello everyone. Sorry I can only use English to input.
I have earned an advanced degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry in the US. While
job-hunting, I am trying to give some serious thought to the possibility of
making a career out of legal practice. Here are the things I'd like to learn
from you guys.
1. Is the science degree I have now going to favor my application to any law
school in US?
2. Does the science degree make me more marketable once I am out of law school
? and if yes, in which fields?

My only advice is that you should take a law school class first.
That is what I am doing now.
It's not that simple.
Language is the highest hurdle.

Both.
The class I am taking now requires a lot of reading in Ancient english, such
as Sir Coke's writing or even Bracton. It's so painful.
Another problem is that after I read a long article, I cannot remember the
content very well, or rather I have difficulty in reciting the text.
Comprehending the main points is not easy for a non native speaker if the
article is more than 20 pages. Even I understand the article very well, it is
still very hard to articulate it in the class. My classmate can e

Your chem background will help a little. But in the admission process, nothing
is as crucial as your LSAT and GPA. Whether it is going to help you in
finding a great job depends on which field of law you would like to practice.
If you want to do patent, of couse having a science degree is not gonna hurt.
But keep in mind that you will be competing with a lot of other people in law
school with sci and tech backgrounds. The success of your job hunting will
depend a lot on you grades and the reputa

good summary! one more thing: IMHO, a good lawyer with mediocre scientific
background is much more marketable than a mediocre lawyer with strong
technical expertise.
