转帖: http://www.amazon.com/Mosquito-Barrier-2001-Repellent-1-Quart/p I used a mosquito service last year who sprayed for me, and she made the mistake of showing me what she sprayed and how she did it...now I am doing it myself*!!! If you start early in the spring- like March for here in Texas - you can actually prevent the problem before it starts. It is much harder to control once you already have a problem. Follow the directions on the package, also adding in the vegetable oil (to kill larvae) and I add about 15-20 drop of peppermint essential oil. It is also an insect repellent and hides the smell of the garlic, which can be strong initially. Remember that mosquitoes lay their eggs not just in damp areas, but in soil, those deep dry cracks we sometimes get in our yard, gutters where leaves pile up, inside tight-leaved shrubs like boxwoods, etc. Try and spray very liberally around those areas and do it when it is sunny so that it can dry effectively and make sure to repeat if it rains within 48 hours of spraying. Yes, it takes a little time, but it is worth it for me to have a nice yard where our family can hang out. Also remember that a mosquito will travel a VERY far way- like a mile- for a meal, so you are never going to eliminate every mosquito, but this product is effective if used properly. *I use in conjunction with Dr. T's granules- one week I spray and one week I spread granules.
