在这潜水三个月,学到的太多。
把我的有用信息也反馈给大家吧。
这个offer基本就决定从了,不过package比我预想的少那么一点点,我有别的offer,
但是从综合上都beat不了这个。我第一天听到package的时候就不太爽,他们估计也听
出来了,然后我就说再给我一个月时间去面更牛逼的几个公司。然后转身一想,十有八
九也面不上,还不如要个raise就从了,大家都开心。
中心思想就是:你要给我涨钱,我立马答应。你要不给我涨钱,我就接着面,到时候有
别的offer了,也不一定会去你那儿。
然后我写了一封巨长的信给manager,第二天他们说base实在涨不了,如果涨了的话,
第二年review你就没机会再涨了,折中涨到sign-on上。我觉得也不错,就take offer
了。manager也很搞,他说我跟他当年用了一模一样的策略来的这个公司,大家都很
happy的笑了.
送大家个模板吧,希望对大家有帮助。语法可能不怎么行,不过逻辑上没什么问题。
说话口气稍微强势了些,因为我知道我面试表现不错,他们很想我过去。

Thanks for calling me yesterday. The pay is really good I'd say. But
it's still a little bit lower than my expectation, which is xxx I
wrote in the survey. I was hoping an amount that I could make my mind
and simply say "this is it", and finish my job search. With current
package, I hesitated a little bit and start to think that other
opportunities might beat this, that's why I ask for one more month. I
like the team and what they do. Also my background matches the team.
As you said xxx is promising in this field, I can't agree more! I
think I'm almost there, if xxx could offer me a little bit more to
firm up my mind. ... So I ask for xxxxxxxxx, keeping other benefits the same
.
I understand that you pushed hard to get this package, I really appreciate
it.
It's very close to my expectation already.
You might think that the xx% increase is really marginal divided into
each paycheck after tax, why would I bother to bring it up. But it's
really the amount that differs a good offer from an awesome one. It's
right on the boarder. The package now beats my outstanding offers. If
I could get xxxx more, it'll beat other potential employers. In turn,
xxxxx will have a happier and more loyal, and thus more productive
employee. He gives up the opportunity with other big players in the
market for Intel. He will understand the company really appreciates
his value and listen to his needs.
I'd imagine with this one-month extension, I could either end up
nothing but choosing xxxx. But this really looks like xxxx not being
my first choice, and royalty is under question, I wouldn't want to. Or
I get another competitive (not only in terms of salary but other
factors also considered) offer, which would make my choice more
difficult. So then I think, what about asking for what I want and
settle down with the team I'd happy to work with.
This xxxx really makes a difference for me, more spiritually than
financially. It will be reflected on my performance in work finally.
I'm serious about the proposal: I didn't negotiate with my other
offers even though the salary is low. I like xxxx, I'm declining my
other ones. I want xxxx to be the destination, not a backup or bar
raiser for another round of job search. I'm not good at talking about
this over the phone because of the language, so I write down what I
think. And I usually don't write lengthy letter, but it's the matter
of career and life path. I need to strive for it. I'm confident about my
value, please consider my request, you won't regret :) If this works,
I'll say YES immediately.
