浴室往楼下漏水, 想淋浴区remove tile and stand a shower base, 但shower area
is smaller than the smallest shower base, so I want to cut some of the wall
to match the shower base. this is practicable?

Too much trouble!
If you cut too much of the wall, it will be a structural and code problem.
I think you should try something else to fit for your shower area size.

看要切多少，如果只差半寸，把底下装shower base的地方的drywall凿掉就是了，不用
动木头。如果超过半寸，不是承重墙，动木头也没关系，就是这活干起来很压抑。
难道就不能把shower base锯小点？
