What's the best energy efficient solution?
Currently have electric heat pump. The electrical bill got $550 last month.
Just run 71degree all day turned off from 12am to 8am and small electrical
heater for that period.
option replace with gas furnace. how much save it could have?
winter has no much sunshine so solar solution may not work.
insulation seems already good enough(inspected).
anything else?

你这也太夸张了吧。。。。500多。。。。
我是69年的老房子，不算地下室1900尺，水暖，叫baseboard heating。
地下室有个90年代的老水暖炉和水泵，烧气，上个月花了120的气费。电费才50. 我在
马里兰，这里可能上个月不是那么冷。
白天二楼低温到68度，一楼70度，晚上睡觉就反过来。
虽然很原始，不过感觉好似很省钱哎。

关键我全是烧电的，我觉得换成烧气的也许便宜些，不知道究竟能省多少，考虑靠重新
安装也是一大比费用。夏天不用开暖气是电费在100刀以下。

add insulation, check for leaks.

heat pump如果室外低于30F的时候，会启动电阻丝加热，耗电量是惊人的。一般heat
pump要跟gas 炉子一起用。当室外50度以上时，用heat pump，室外低于40度，烧气。
你可以算一下烧气还是用heat pump合算。目前气很便宜，heat pump即使在室外50度的
时候（效率是可以到300%）也不一定合算。

谢谢，你是说我同时装个gas furnace,然后根据室外温度来切换用heat pump和gas
furnace. sounds a good idea.
