My car's mileage is above 90k now. The dealer suggested me to have an
overhaul of my car’s cooling system even though there is no such
requirement in the manufacturer-recommended maintenance schedule. Searching
on the internet, it turns out that BMW’s cooling system is made of rub &
plastic, kind of crap. Many owners replace the cooling system before
reaching 90k miles. Has anyone overhaul your BMW car’s cooling system
before? How much of the cost? Any shop recommended? Thx.

换新车吧。都90K了，修车的钱占车价值的百分比太高就不合算了。我的车才过51K就

无关是不是喜新厌旧，只是看合算不合算。我一同事的旧车前一阵花两千修了，她问人
这车能卖多少，人家告诉她两千。她只好继续开了。不知道下一次这车在路上抛锚时她
还要不要再修。

well it is not required by manufacturer but your shop guy does have the
point.let me tell you my experience, it may be helpful.
at about 100k miles my e36's rediator blowed off when driving on the local
street. i towed the car back to home, lifted up the hood and figured that the
broken part is the plastic joint between aluminium rediator body and the
rubber hose.in hot climate like socal plastic part ages a lot faster than in cooler area. if this joint is casted together with rediator body it w

Thanks for your sharing. Mine is E46 frame. I plan to change all rubber &
plastic parts. I am still debating whether I should change water pump and
thermostat.
