我的请求信：
I am in the process of preparing for the application of the U.S.
permanent residency (green card). As part of the required supporting
documents for my petition, I need experts' comments on my previous work in
the form of 1-2 pages of letter. As my Ph.D advisor and a renowned expert in
our field, your reference letter will be extremely helpful to the green
card petition.
This kind of reference letter needs to be written and handled slightly
differently than the reference letter for job-seeking purpose. I understand
that you must be quite busy with your research. If you agree, a draft letter
will be prepared for your review and edit, based on the guidance given by
my immigration attorney.
Your support will be very helpful to my future development in US, and
my family. Thanks in advance for your help and have a good day.

基本情况：在德州工作，公司sponsor EB2.
公司委托律师申请I140，然后发现被递到NSC去了。我们公司比较变态，只能通过HR和
律师联系。我给公司HR发邮件表示过担心，她说两个中心都可以处理。请问她说的对吗
？记得以前版上有人说德州的只能寄到TSC，我这种情况要不要坚持转到TSC？多谢了。
另外版上递到NSC的兄弟，你们I140都等了多久啊？

我觉得还好吧，你就算把自己写的好点儿，top level. 难道最后他还真拒绝签字？你

我几个朋友在TSC都是一个多月就批了，我的case已经快5个月了。

老板是个香港人。英国读的本科，不会讲国语。他接受的全是西式的教育。
人很有拼劲，学术上也蒸蒸日上。人不坏，但是学术态度很严谨。和大陆来的faculty
不太一样。从来不搞那些弄虚作假的事情。感觉他从来不push学生，也不会为难学生，
但是也不怎么尽力去帮助学生那种。

哪个中心无所谓的。。。都递了就等吧。。。140批慢点无所谓，你想快就申请premium

尽量忠于你的本来面目，加上一点点的关键词，如果不签就不用了。
努力找不认识的人，那个就叫做independent reference 也很重要的。
我就没找Ph.D的老板，硕士，本科的老板，都是博士后期间，认识或不认识的人有7个

You do not need to sadness according to the letter. Just prepare a draft and
ask for sign.

深有感触啊，我一个台湾来的committee member，本以为会得到一封推荐信，结果其回
复： i dont know you much，cannot provide a letter...后来，我把这个重复给了
我的老板，我老板也很吃惊。所以，自此我再也没理过it，而且，心理还留下了阴影，
觉得越是那些来自台湾，香港的叫兽，越是惺惺作态。

自己的phd学生，在自己的lab 5年时间，如果不优秀的话，会在他们lab里，会最后拿
到degree么？
我始终觉得一个人以后成功与否，是很难预料的，you never know who you are
talking to.古往今来，不是很多人出乎意料的一鸣惊人么？一个叫兽连这点常识都没
有，可见其心胸多么狭隘，思想多么arrogant!

该满足了，好老板不少，但不好的也很多。不必奢求碰到的都是好人
你老板至少还愿意帮忙，比帮倒忙的好多了。
反正你写的draft他还要修改的，不要吹的太过就的

Don't feel too bad. Your Ph.D boss is not that bad. Just write what you need
to and see if it's ok with him. Let him know that's the reality, otherwise
you don't stand a chance.
I'm quite lucky that my boss got me all my referees.
