都搞定5封了，可是有两个大牛的，一个中国的，一个巴西的独立推荐人，一推再拖，
也不说拒绝，可收到我发过去的原稿就是不给发过来都拖一个多月了。
难道要推荐信都是这么煎熬么，那些人到底是怎么想的？
看着这一阵子大放水眼红呀，但愿别到我的时候开始收紧了
可能是最近做了点坏事报应...

Have you followed up with them in this passing month? If not, do email them
now. I used to hassle the people who agreed to write me a letter once a week
after I sent them the draft.

I hassle them once a week, or twice a day if I feel annoyed.What is weird is that they say "yes, wait"
Is 2 independent referees enough? If so, I will move forward before I am
stuck to crazy.

hehe, they are kind of funny. I got responses to let me know till when I
should wait, but not just wait. Or maybe you can ask them when they can give
it to you, or tell them by what time you will need it.
stuck to crazy.
There is no hard rule on how many is enough.
Are those 2 letters very strong in the sense that the writers have used your
work or something to show your impact? The empty good words are not
regarded highly by the IOs, but the evident facts that your work is useful
for EB1B, or you are known and influential for EB1A, is more valuable. If
they are strong enough, then they are probably enough, together with other
letters.

In my case, 4 independent ones are from the people who cited my papers. I
didn't even know their names before I checked out that info.
1 other independent one is an editor that I have never met but he invited me
to review some papers before, so I knew his name, but I don't know him
personally.
Are those counted as "connections" or not?
I want to give people hope that when we send out enough requests, especially
the ones who have had some professional relationships with us, we can get
some letters, not zero.

I got a letter from one professor who first responded me after 8 days when
I first emailed him, and he was always late in responding to emails, but
he has helped me, after all. That is just his style.
So just follow up after one or two weeks, meanwhile send out more
requests.
