Rock lyric? Because it reminds me of the following signature, which I saw in
somebody else's e-mail:
"The city's a flood, and our love turns to rust.
We're beaten and blown by the wind
Trampled in dust.
I'll show you a place
High on a desert plain
Where the streets have no name..." - U2
【在 or 的大作中提到】
: i dont remember the resource; i even dont know who wrote it.
: it happened to bump into my mind; probably i had seen it in some novel..
: there's an iron gritty feeling in this verse..

it's called haiku, a traditional japanese verse form.
the whole poem is awfully long as in the following, nonetheless each line is
crystalline clear and has a very lovely simplicity.

Thus spring begins: old
stupidities repeated,
new errs invented
Just beyond the gate,
a neat yellow hole
someone pissed in the snow
With this rising bath-mist
deep in a moonlit night,
spring finally begins.
People working fields,
from my deepest heart, I

If it is a haiku, then the three-line verse is a complete poem. And I guess
what you found is a haiku collection of the same author.
