KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implementation of features in distributed back end systemsOwnership of the implementation and delivery of small or mid-size featuresWrite and execute unit tests via testing frameworks.

  
  

• Triage and fix reported bugsCommunicate estimates, schedules, issues and dependencies to technical or project lead. 

  
  

• Define and design integration tests with Test Engineering. 

  
  

• Share knowledge for new technologies with engineering team.

  
  

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Projected to graduate in 2024Pursuing a graduate degree in information systems with a focus/ interest in Distributed SystemKnowledge of Java/Python/Golang. 

  
  

• Knowledge in NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Consul, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and other CNCF technologies. 

  
  

• Knowledge of Linux and BashUnderstanding of concepts such as concurrency, parallelism, and microservices architecture. 

  
  

• Knowledge of Web technologies including REST and gRPCIntermediate knowledge of version control tools such as git and GitLab.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand our existing database technologies and analyze where further efficiencies can be implemented. 

  
  

• Understand how a large network system is run and the safeguards put in place to achieve high availability. 

  
  

• Explore new database technologies that can be implemented in the PlayStation Network to enhance platform features, increase resiliency, and reduce operational overhead. 

  
  

• Collaborate with other engineers to create robust automation solutions

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Projected to graduate in 2024Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science (or another related) fieldInterest/broad understanding in database technologies. 

  
  

• Strong programmatic skills.

  
  

• Strong communication skills - both verbal and written. 

  
  

• Eagerness for continuous learning through collaboration with cross-functional teams. 

  
  

• Curiosity and excitement for new/unexplored domains of technology.
