have sth on the brain

如果要表达“ 某事萦绕心头；过分热衷”，普通版就是 think about sth all the time, 或keep thinking about sth 。高级且地道的表达则是have sth on the brain

比如：
You've had chess on the brain since you were little.  
你从很小的时候就对下棋产生了浓厚兴趣。
He has sex on the brain.
他脑子里想的全是性。（居然还有这样的一本书，谁会买嘛）

用brain表达“聪明”

要表达“聪明”，不是只有smart或clever这样的形容词。
其实，完全可以用brain这个单词来表达，因为brain除了基本义“大脑”，还引申出“智力；脑力；逻辑思维能力”的意思。
比如：
It doesn't take much brain to work out that both stories can't be true.
不必费多大脑筋就知道，两种说法不可能都是真的。
Teachers spotted that he had a good brain at an early age.
老师们发现他小时候就很聪颖。
You need brains as well as brawn (= intelligence as well as strength) to do this job.
这项工作既需要脑力又需要体力。

来，学个习语表达：put on a brave face

意思是“ pretend that they are happy or satisfied when they are not.”，即“装作高兴；强作欢颜”

比如：
He felt disappointed but he tried to put on a brave face.
他感到很失望，但还竭力强装欢笑。
The White House tried to put a brave face on the job figures.  
白宫面对就业数字强颜欢笑。

We may brave humna laws, but we cannot resist natural ones.

人间法律或可挑战，自然法则不可违背！
