这家开在华盛顿的博物馆，里面讲的都是中华文化

在距离白宫仅800米的华盛顿哥伦比亚特区第16街上，有一座灰白两色的五层建筑。

这就是在2017年6月正式注册成立的华盛顿华美博物馆（Chinese American Museum in Washington），也是华盛顿唯一一家专门讲述华人历史与文化的博物馆。

华盛顿华美博物馆的创始人裘菲立坦言，博物馆的成立是为了推广中华文化。“我们想通过展览和文化活动，向游客展示博大精深的中华文化，”他说。

Philip Qiu, the founder of the Chinese American Museum in Washington, said that the museum was established for the purpose of promoting Chinese culture. "By organizing cultural activities and exhibitions, we present profound Chinese culture to visitors," he said.

同时，有着多年海外生活、工作经历的裘菲立深知华人在美发展的不易。

因此，他希望借助博物馆讲述华人在美的经历，突出华人对美国发展的贡献，并增进人们对华裔文化的理解。

Therefore, he founded the museum to tell the story of Chinese people in America, highlight their contributions to the country and improve people's understanding of Chinese-American culture.

五年多来，华盛顿华美博物馆一直致力于收集、保存、研究和展示美国华人的历史、文化；讲述和记录华人在美的故事；传播中国传统文化并促进两国文化交流。

Over the past five years,  the museum has been committed to collecting, preserving, researching and displaying the history and culture of Chinese Americans. It has also told and recorded the stories and experiences of Chinese in the US and spread traditional Chinese culture. Meanwhile, it has promoted the exchanges of history and culture between the two countries.

博物馆先后举办了涉及历史、绘画、宗教等15个不同主题的高品质展览，累计接待了超过10万名各国游客。

The museum has held 15 high-quality exhibitions with different themes such as history, painting and religion, receiving more than 100,000 visitors from around the world.

其中，题为《安全港湾：上海，二战犹太难民的意外故事》（Safe Harbor: Shanghai Surprising Stories of Jewish Refugees in WWII）的特展再现了二战时期犹太人流亡上海的历史，受到了美国各界的关注。

文化特展《迷人的针脚与故事》（Enchanting Stitches and Stories）则展出了近百件苏绣和苗绣作品，许多外国游客都在参观后表达了喜爱与赞叹。

2022年春节期间，中国驻美大使馆、华盛顿华美博物馆与肯尼迪艺术中心合作举办了迎新春彩灯展及中国春节文化展示活动。

据介绍，彩灯展分为熊猫竹林、蝴蝶花园、珊瑚礁群等主题展区，共展出了100多盏造型各异、美轮美奂的彩灯。

活动期间，肯尼迪艺术中心的超大型投影墙上还滚动播出“欢乐春节”、“美丽中国”等主题影片，吸引大批观众观看。 

目前，馆内正在举办由上海道教协会和该馆共同筹办的《道教：追寻天人合一》文化展。

A cultural exhibition titled Taoism: Pursuing Harmony Between Human and Nature is underway at the Museum of Chinese in America in Washington. The exhibition is jointly organized by the museum and the Shanghai Taoist Association.

据悉，该展览旨在从道教仪式、音乐、建筑等方面展示中国道教文化，让参观者感受到其独特魅力。展品包括道袍、手绘灵符、书法、乐器，以及三清尊神画像等。

The exhibition is designed to showcase Taoist culture in China through displays of several themes including Taoist music, Taoist rituals and Taoist architecture and enable visitors to experience the charms of Taoism. 

Exhibits include Taoist robes, handpainted talismans, calligraphy, musical instruments and portraits of the three Gods from the Sanqing Hall, the highest deity of Taoism.

除了各类展览，华盛顿华美博物馆主办了“历史上的华裔美国女性”研讨会、华裔企业家研讨会、中美学生绘画比赛等活动。

该博物馆还创立了“金灯笼”奖（Gold Lantern Awards ），以表彰具有领导力、影响力和社会责任感的杰出华人。

首届“金灯笼”奖颁奖典礼于2022年5月3日在华盛顿特区的瑞吉酒店内举行。获奖者包括烹饪历史学家Grace Young、作曲家Christopher Tin、跨境电商平台Yes She May首席执行官徐梅以及熊猫餐饮集团创始人程正昌和蒋佩琪夫妇。他们在各自的领域取得了令人瞩目的成就，为华人团体在美发展做出了不可磨灭的贡献。

根据计划，华盛顿华美博物馆今年还将筹办旗袍展、佛教文化艺术展、李昌钰博士事迹展等。

“我一直相信，人类文明是个大家庭，全世界各个民族的文化都应该被尊重。以后也许我们有机会通过博物馆把美国文化带到中国来展出，通过文化交流，加强两国人民之间的互动，增进两国友好。”裘菲立说。

"I always believe that human civilization is like a big family, and  the culture of every nation in the world should be respected. Maybe in the future, we will have the opportunity to show American culture to Chinese people via the museum." Qiu said. 

Cultural exchanges like this will help strengthen communication between people from the two countries and enhance friendly relations, Qiu said.
