Traveling to another planet

On April 16 in 2039 While Percy was watching TV suddenly the news came on. The news said that the sun had been poisoned and most people had to go to the planet Saturn. Scientists had discovered that under the gas was a whole new world. On Saturn people did not need sunlight to live so people could live there. Percy and his neighborhood were first taken to go to Saturn. They traveled on a spaceship that went one light year per hour. After 30 min they arrived at Saturn.

Percy and his family tried to build a little house but it kept falling down. They went in such a hurry that they only packed clothes and things that they needed so they did not pack anything to build the house with. They also could not go back because the spaceship ran out of fuel. They only had straw sticks and paint to build their house. Then they saw aliens and were very frightened. The aliens were green and had 2 eyes and 2 legs and 4 arms. They thought the aliens were very mean. It turned out that the aliens wanted to help them make a house. The aliens also brought bricks. The aliens also taught Percy and his neighborhood how to make food. The humans were very thankful so they invited the aliens for a big feast.

They ate corn, hamburgers, pizza, cupcakes, fruits and vegetables. The aliens loved the hamburgers (the humans brought some of the food like hamburgers the aliens grew the fruits and vegetables on Saturn). It turned out that the aliens have been to earth before to get some new recipes and the humans did not notice

However, on Saturn, there were good aliens and bad monsters. The monsters did not like that the aliens helped the humans. One night when the whole neighborhood was sleeping, the monsters decided to take some of the human’s food. The monsters took most of the food from Percy’s family because the monsters like Percy’s family food the best.

After about 1 month the neighborhood noticed. Percy’s family had barely any food and was also a little short of supplies since they had to keep buying food and supplies and the monsters kept stealing it. Percy’s family did not know who was stealing all their food. So, one night they put up a video camera. They saw it was the monsters that took their food.

The monsters were orange with 8 eyes and 6 tentacles. The monsters slept during the day while Percy and his neighborhood slept at night. One day with the help of aliens Percy and his family came up with a plan. When they got to the monster's house the door was locked. What Percy and his family didn’t know was that the aliens could change shape whenever they wanted to. The aliens slid under the door to unlock the door so the humans could enter the monster’s house. When they got to the monster’s house, they attacked them. The monsters said that they were just hungry and wanted some food so Percy and his family forgave them and invited the monsters and aliens for a big thanksgiving dinner. The monster also taught the humans how to make clothes. Together they made one giant palace. There were monsters, aliens and humans in the palace and they happily ever after.

It was a warm, sunny day. Vivienne, an 18 year-old girl with a full ride scholarship to Stanford, was in her dorm room, waiting for her roommate. She twirled her raven black hair as she read a long mystery novel. Vivienne shut her book and said, “Done,” with a huge smile. She placed it with a stack of a ton of other novels she finished. She grabbed her computer and turned it on to watch the latest news, but little did she know, she was going to get the worst news of a lifetime.

The news reporter said, “This is Gabriella Hifhan and welcome to the local news. A huge amount of death hit Asia when the moon came up. About 3,476,508,000 people died from this situation. It is predicted that the moon became deadly and is starting to kill humans. Please get to the airport and seek cover. Now, let’s move on to Chad, to talk about why koala bears can talk to panda bears!”

Vivienne shut her computer in horror. The moon killing humans? No, that must be fake news. She drummed her fingers on the computer. She pulled out her phone and called her mom frantically, but no one answered. In a panic, she called her dad, no one answered either. Her fingers ran through the scalp of her hair as she tried to think, but she couldn’t.

Tears welled up in her eyes. She couldn’t bear to think that her family had died. Vivienne cried for hours, trying not to think about her family’s death. Tears ran on her cheeks. Her eyes were swollen.

She knew she had to be strong. Vivienne knew she had to save Earth. She knew she had to save everyone before the entire human population was wiped out.

Vivienne then stood up, tears were still in her eyes.

“I’m going to save the world,” she said.

Vivienne paused for a moment.

“Wait, how am I going to save the world?” Vivienne realized.

Then, a voice went in her head.

“If only you could get helppp.”

“I know, but how?” Vivienne asked.

Axel jumped out of a wall he was hiding behind.

“Oh my god. From me, dummy!” he yelled.

Vivienne turned around and screamed.

“How did you get in?!” she screamed.

“Your window was open,” Axel said, “I wanted to surprise you.”

“Okay, you surprised me. Now what do you really want?”

“I want to save the world with you!

本次比赛仅对Ustar新老学员开放

参赛资格：

• 参赛者年级必须在K-G10

• 作品为独创，共同撰写的作品不符合资格

• 参赛作品可以是事实或虚构。

• 作品必须为原创

• 文本必须打印/书写清晰或打字。

• 接受自创的拼写(invented spelling)

作品字数：

字数包括“a”、“an”和“the”，

但不包括标题页等

非故事页面上的单词或插图的单词。

评判标准：

评判标准分为两部分：

评委评分（占总分比80%）

和点赞量（占总分比20%），

点赞最高分20分。

例：评委评分80分，点赞量100，

最终分数为80×80%+100×20%= 64+20=84
