先听到passenger front side沙沙响，还不知道是怎么回事，半个小时后在路上显
示low battery。立马回家开到ramp上架起来，保险丝全部完好，怠速电池电压只有11.
5伏左右。关掉引擎电池过会变成12伏。电池是2012年的duralast gold，不算太旧。
网上一搜发现2007的alternator还挺难换,也很难自己rebuild。还好有三辆车，可
以慢慢弄。自己换估计120，dealer换600，需要动engine mount才能取出来。

got a Ford, 78k mi
so far zero prob
see if u can DIY
but only if u've enough confidence
I don't like the hassles of FWD cars
changing alternator or water pump
's pain in t ass

Certainly DIY.
I used to swapped out an alternator of 98 Ford Contour, much easier though.
You can even buy $10 brushes to rebuild it.

u need a good floor jack and blocks to support t engine
when u detach t engine mount

应该是轴承废了。估计福特这批零件又用的便宜货。

如果是电刷磨损了，不应该响。不是轴承，就是电刷holder里面的spring给坏了。

Technically it is not called engine mount. It is the rubber piece on the
bottom which pulls engine to the back. It has to be removed so another guy
can push the engine forward to get enough clearance between engine and axle
in order for the alternator to fall out. I think I will use a ratchet strap
around the front bumper to pull the engine forward.

ford oem rebuilt $192 including $75 core fee on the bay. not bad.

这种设计太差了, 完全不考虑车子的可维护性。作为经济型的车, 旧车会很快掉价的,
又是车主的损失。

昨天在拆的时候都快绝望了，因为有图上这个dust cover,alternator又卡在上面，很
难把电线取下来。另外还有些bolt凭空增加没有必要的难度，真的不知道设计师是怎么
想的。

以前听修车的说，美国车的设计很多脑残的，比如卸掉个油泵要把整个油箱拿下来这种
。变速器也很难拆。没想到在fusion这种新型车上也这样。

focus, not fusion. the alternator is in a very hot spot near the bottom. no
wonder lots of failures. on the other hand my previous escort was very easy
to work with - but i heard that one was designed by mazda.

都推引擎了还有什么其它窍门啊。autozone说的也和service manual一致。
对了，拆得这个叫Engine roll restrictor mount bolt。当然我还是用floor jack &
2X4" 轻轻顶住oil pan以防万一。

拆线的时候很难拿住alternator,掉了几次在axle joint boot和power steering line
上，搞得我检查几遍确认没砸坏。我在下面拆线半天没搞定，后来从上面穿了一根绳子
过alternator的螺丝孔，将它吊起来从上面动手（上面也是不能取出alternator来的）
，好不容易才取掉线。

修车的困难就在于这种狭小空间没法施展。每次修车时候我就想，如果一个发动机摆在
桌子上，修起来肯定毫无压力。

还有就是锈啊。由于有个螺帽拧死在一个很长的螺杆上，害得我专门跑到HD买了很深的
1/2" 15mm socket,用1/2 breaker bar搞定。

关键是不知道怎么会设计成螺帽拧在一个很长的螺杆的一半位置上固定alternator,而
且这根螺杆还是torx E8,完全没有必要啊。一个正常一半长的bolt就足够了，完全是吃
饱了撑的。

所以我不太敢碰美车德车，连本田都不敢碰，据说换ATF都要拆好几颗螺丝一堆的pan，
还是丰田吃得透，维护也简单些，自己换atf就拆一颗螺丝就可以了。烤肉的starter,
一个长bar搞定。拆出来容易，放回去费了点周折，不过还算好了，就是换了spring和
铜片，11刀diy就搞定了。01年的老菜车现在又开了3万mile,快16万mile了，打火没问题

今天新发电机到了,装了进去。朝前拉引擎,朝后拉引擎,发电机吊起来接线,累煞老夫也。
