just heard about this recently, but don't know how exact.
now many semiconductor products go high frequencies, the
usual digital design (dealing with only 0 and 1) doesn't
work any more, which requires precise analysis, such as
transmission line analysis, interconnect design, etc.
semiconductor packaging obviously deals with such problems
associated with packaging of semiconductor products, like
CPU (that's very traditional for intel).
