本人千老10来年，三年前转行到医院检验科做Medical Technologist.去年被前老板召
回作一课题，课题进展不错，遂以此为基础写了一个小课题，医院 R＆D director审完
grant 后，觉得有价值，于是直接给我一个小实验室和一点启动基金。请问：像我这
种情况将来能直接在NIH以PI申请 funding吗？多谢！

Of course you can as long as your institute supports you. But the key is to
convince the study section that you have the resource to complete what you
propose, which can be a hurdle in your situation.

谢谢！只要能独立申请NIH Grant就好。实验室条件还行，和前老板的实验室也不远，
可以share一些设备，写课题时肯定要建立在现有的实验条件上，在此基础上要说服the
study section应该问题不大吧。
