My wife and I set allowance to 2 in our W4 form. But we found that we owe
about 2800 dollars to federal tax this year.
1. salary: 71K (me) and 42k (my wife) per year
2. one child
3. rent
4. put 11k to 401k from my payroll
5. standard deduction
6. No other income
7. No other deductions
I google W4 calculator and I found we should set allowance to 0 and use
additonal tax withholding.
Is my calculation for W4 correct?

这种情况最多一个人是1另一个0。最保险是两个都是0，反正多交的能退回来，少交的
话要加罚款。

两个人都工作，算上孩子最多也不过是一边可以报3，一边报0.

Thanks for your reply. Even though we use 0 for both of us, I found we
still need to withholding additional federal tax after I use on-line W4
calculator. I do not know if I did the calculation correctly.

那个A一般都是1吧，所以加起来H至少也是1吧。

看上去是对的. 如有怀疑,把你去年的收入填进去算,结果应该和你欠2800差不多.
