去年我妈来住了184天，我未婚，把她当作dependent报了head of household。现在收
到加州的audit信。我照实写了，应该没什么问题吧，超过183天就可以算resident了吧。

No, you are not qualified as HOH. HOH cannot have married dependent, like
your parents. Also, your mother's main home is in China, not US.
Once your CA return got audit, your Fed return should also get audit, too.
Watch out your tax return preparation next year. You got audit and it will
be on record for many years. So, that will be a red flag for IRS and CA FTB
every year. Good luck to you.

不是吧,我看了那些requirements,觉得我都符合亚.我妈是离婚的,然后09年她在美国住
了超过半年,怎么不能算她的main home呢,何况还有一条,如果是父母的话,都不用和我
住在一块,主要我负担了她半年以上的生活就行

Sorry for the divorce parent. Prepare your mother's passport and I-94 in order to prove she live more than 180 days with you. Then go ahead to prepare the Worksheet for
Determining Support as well as living expense's receipts and invoices. Once pass the support test, you should be OK.

Is there any requirement on the dependent's US residency (either GC or
citizenship) at all? Another way to look at
it would be:
* The HOH will files 1040
* But the dependent is a Non-Resident Alien
If tax return is filed, he/she would use 1040NR.
Now, can that person be claimed as a dependent in filing 1040 ?

舞阿.等我把USB声卡配置好,就给俺闺女放mp3听.
