zuck当然可以回答 https://www.quora.com/When-pitching-to-an-investor-how-does-one-answer-the- question-Whats-to-stop-Facebook-from-just-implementing-this-feature Marc Andreessen, General Partner, Andreessen Horowitz When I ask variations on this question (not about Facebook specifically but more generally about any big company), the answer I am always hoping for but rarely get is, "Because we are going to kick their ass." Followed by an explanation of how.
Zuckerberg answered this before: https://www.facebook.com/zuck/posts/10101250930776491 It is much better than the answer by @pmarca. I actually think it is pretty delusional to think your team is best in the world. As pker pointed out, if you focus on building the best team, the mindset will fail you by itself. Yeah, there is stupid advice that you should always hire "A player". The question is who in their right mind is setting out to hire C player? But why would A player wants to work for you rather than FLG or BAT? And what would you do then?

At first, I don't think FLG(UASP) bar is very high. Any good CS student can pass that bar. There are 140k+ people work or used to work for FB, the number for GOOGLE is 350k+. Most of ex-facebookers or ex-googlers joined hot startups. The FLG bar is just an easy way to filter those unqualified ones. Read more stories about Zuck or Peter Thiel you would know the second most important job as CEO in early startup is recruiting. The most important job is of course the product. Zuck didn't mention in your quoted post that you should hire any C player. However, according to https://blog.kissmetrics.com/lessons-from-mark-zuckerberg/ Zuckerberg knows that for any business to be successful, you need to have a great team. He says that “The most important thing for you as an entrepreneur trying to build something is, you need to build a really good team. And that’s what I spend all my time on… I spend probably 25 percent of my time recruiting, finding good people, both outside the company and inside the company, to put them in more impactful roles.” Another famous quote from him is "I will only hire someone to work directly for me if I would work for that person," Zuckerberg said. The truth is, during 2005-2009, those who can survive in FB can find any job at any company. They only hire A++ players. They fired extremely fast they found you are not a good fit.
