Sure there are bookstores around, but Newyork is far from where I live.--
Hey, this is not the point.
Maybe I didn't make it clear before.
My friend, now is in China, will go to NewYork on business,
and he wants to buy some books for himself, not for me, in his spare time.
Since I have no idea of bookstores in NewYork,
I posted here to ask for help.
My English is not so good, and I hope it is clear this time. :)

barnes and nobles, borders are country-wide and almost root in every city.
always a treat to visit such big bookstores. not sure of any else specific
for nyc.

strand book store. one of best used book stores in nyc.
its address is 828 broadway (12th st.)
