I assume you have some chinese fonts installed.
In preference->apperance->fonts,deselect "allow documents to use other fonts"

I am using SUN solaris.
There is no fonts for simplified chinese.e.g. Song Ti..
only serif and sans serif. It seems there is no chinese fonts
