We are looking for a coworker with solid background in chemical biology (
organic sythesis and molecular biology), or a coworker with previous
experiences in phage display, yeast surface display or mammalian cell
genetics (cell culture, cell sorting and genetic modification). Please

one year with a possibility to extension, starting as soon as possible.
The Ai lab at UC Riverside is specialized in protein engineering, in
particular,
fluorescent proteins and protein synthesis machineries. We can genetically
encode nonnative amino acids using orthogonal tRNA/synthetase pairs
derived from extensive protein engineering. We are interested in pushing
this technique forward (protein labeling, fluorescent probes and therapeutic
reagents). We are also, in general, interested in the development of new
methods for
protein engineering (by coupling computational and experimental approaches)
Qualifications required: PhD degree in a relevant area (at least 3 first
author publications in professional journals). Personal qualities such as
being self-motivated and thorough with a strong passion for innovation and
method development are required.
Application should include:
•Cover letter describing your research interest and why you are
suitable for this position (maximum 1 page).
•CV including a list of relevant publications.
•Names, e-mail addresses, and telephone numbers for academic
references/recommendation letters.
The position will be paid by following the NIH pay scale. Priority will be
given to fresh Ph.D. graduates. Candidates with a master's degree can
also be considered (as lab technicians). However, it is difficult to
process H1 visa through the UC system. So if your visa needs to
be sponsored, it is likely to be J1.
