Check out this "news" - sounds the latest one. Note the rapid forward march of China EB 2 and Worldwide EB 3. Charles Oppenheim indicated in our meeting in May that we should continue to see rapid advances in EB 3, and moderate forward movement for China EB 2, but not to expect advances in the India EB 2 until very close to the end of the fiscal year, and then only a few weeks.

Charles Oppenheim of the Department of State indicated in our meeting in April that we should continue to see rapid advances in EB 3 Worldwide, and moderate forward movement for China EB 2, perhaps to early 2009 by September , but not to expect advances in the India EB 2 until very close to the end of the fiscal year, and then only a few weeks. EB 1 should not develop a backlog, nor should EB 5. EB 2 Worldwide may develop a small backlog near the end of the fiscal year. EB 3 Worldwide will continue to advance very rapidly as the 2007 “Visagate” priority date has now passed, and there are not many people remaining in that queue.

CIR到底能不能PASS啊 Of course, if Comprehensive Immigration Reform passes, the backlogs will be history for the time being, through a combination of recapture of old unused visa numbers, diverting DV lottery numbers to employment based immigrants, exclusion of EB dependents, EB 1, Ph.D holders, certain physicians, and others from the quota. We’ll keep you posted.
