NIW I-485 2007年递的，从来都没有消息，昨天忽然收到USCIS email:
The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was
transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be
notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something
from you.
这是意味着CURRENT 了吗？一般要等多久能有消息?

protein.
Major applications include:
Gene Expression profiling
Cony Number Vriation
MicroRNA profiling
RNA:Potein Simultanous profiling
CHIP:String
Diagnostic Assay Kit: Procigna
....
Very promising technology.

I checked with my lawyer. He told me that it does not mean that my case is
current now. it only means that USCIS starts background checking so when the
case is current, they can process it quickly.
I don't know if it is right.

我觉得这个就是一个介于测序和microarray 之间的过渡性技术吧？一旦测序便宜起来
了这种技术恐怕就没有用了。

Also very expensive technique. The average cost for one sample is around $
250 and it cannot detect new molecules due to its probe hybridization
strategy.

价格只是一个方面。
nanoString 比 RNAseq 用起来简单得多，数据的重复性好，噪音低。对于确定的几百
个目标，比做测序性价比高一大块。最大的缺点是不能测未知的东西。如果是针对已知
几十几百个基因的signatute作为诊断，nanoString优势很大。

也可以protein定量？
这个sequencing做不了
也就MS可以一用了

可以，刚刚出来的应用。
同一个样品，同时测mRNA （800个）和protein （30个）

非也非也。
nanostring好处还是很多的。
1. 这玩意儿方便啊，直接裂解就能用
2. 这玩意儿准啊，基本上算是表达量的事实标准了，其他的那些需要pcr的都靠边。
3. 这玩意可以做xxx panel，其实对clinical来说够用了，量大价格也低了
4. 这玩意儿可靠性好，FDA信啊。NGS这种东西FDA还没搞清楚。
