Is it necessary to buy the CD-ROM for the courses or it will be OK just read
the book? Where else can I buy those CD-ROM other than from Oracle? Thanks a
lot!

No, you don't need to buy any course materials. Just books (the cert kit,
SYBEX) are enough. One week for one book, 'cause the books are really boring!
