Big economists question the fundamentals; so do laymen. It's always a good
strategy to examine the assumptions, because people can't distinguish one from
another. :)
I kinda feel that Nobel Prize not only values those who make pure scientific
contributions, but also awards the publicity that economists (or scientists
from other fields) make of their own theories. Mundell is very popular among
journalists, Heckman is quite agressive in promoting his theory to
governments not limited to the US,
