i'm gonna give you two examples. it rained last night, so today morning the ground must be wet. this is an a priori argument. you know as a fact that it rained last night, and then you argue that the ground must be wet. the raining occurs prior to the wetting of the ground. the ground is wet, so last night it must have rained. this is a posteriori argument
by the way, 'a priori' and 'a posteriori' are both adverbs. so i should probably 'this is argument of the a priori type'
