动词加上副词构成。
其中的副词做什么功能？
比如 turn it on
drop me off
这里的on和off是做状语修饰turn和drop，还是做宾语的补语？
另外今天新闻上的一句话
Myanmar protests push iran down U.N. agenda.
这里的down是介词还是副词?
down U.N. agenda是做状语修饰push，还是做iran的补语？

Sometimes the adverb changes the meaning of the verb.
switch (change) => switch on (turn on, power up)
make (prepare, produce) => make up a story (invent a story)
make => make out
bring => bring in the furniture (move furniture into the house)
bring => bring in a new law (introduce a new law)
come => come about (happen)
come => Come on, slowpoke! (hurry up)
come => Come on, you liar! (be realistic, honest)
come => come on to someone (make a move/pass, flirt with)

Thank you very much.
'down' in down the U.N. agenda is preposition, not adverb.
I think 'down the u.n. agenda' is object complement.

I still think "down" is an adverb here and part of the phrasal verb
"push down" meaning "to lower", "to deprioritize".
In the sentence: "A pushed B down the stairs."
"down" is a preposition. However, the prepositional phrase
describes the direction of the action, not B, so it is still not an
object complement.
In the sentence:
"The Myanmar crisis pushed the Iran debate off the U.N. agenda."
"off" is a preposition, and "off the agenda" is an object complement
modifying "the Iran debate".

this is very intererting. but we should know argument between us is becaming
very difficult.
If you agree that 'off the u.n. agenda' of 'push iran debate off the u.n.
agenda' acts as object complement, you should agree that 'down the u.n.
agenda' has
the same function too.

I don't understand you say down is an adverb here and a preposition
in 'a push b down c'.
Please note my original sentence is
Myanmar protests push iran down U.N. agenda,
which is in the formation of 'a push b down c', as the second formation
you said.
