The April 2012 immigrant visa bulletin for EB-2 (advanced degree) Chinese is
at May 1, 2010. This means that individuals with priority dates of May 1,
2010 or earlier will be eligible to file their green card applications
within the month of April. However, the Department of State (DOS) has just
reported last week (3/23/2012) that when the May 2012 Visa Bulletin is
published (which will not occur until mid-April), both the China and India
EB-2 cut-off will retrogress to August 15, 2007. The DOS has stated that
immigrant demand is still increasing at a very high rate, but that it is too
early to predict movement for the rest of the year. We monitor this
information within our office on a monthly basis and track this information
carefully. Unfortunately, however, there is no way to predict how long it
will take until Mr. Wu's priority date is current.
