the blackened hand never get explained
but in chapter 2, snape should get a blackhand when make the vow
so I have a wild guess:
Since Dumbledore knew the soul splitting all the time, he may
find another way to split his soul without killing and put half
onto Snape;
in the last 7th book when Harry vs Dark Lord, Snape will jump
out to help Harry kill the Lord; just my guess

i don't think Dumbledore would split his soul, even for winning Voldemort. he
would much more prefer his soul intact, even if he had to die in that soul.
but i do think there was something going on b/t him and Dumbledore. i just can
't believe why he trusted Snape so much - just to keep Harry away from him doe
s not seem to justify it. and remember when Hagrid overhears their talk, and S
nape says sth that he does not want to do any more, but D insists him to conti
nue if have to. what that thin
