感动！“90后”姑娘不顾生理期跳入冰水救老人

On the very first day of 2023, the heroic actions of a young woman went viral after she jumped into a frozen lake to save an old man despite her period and the cold weather.

On Dec 31, 2022, a young woman in her 20s named Zhang Xinyuan heard cries for help while walking with her family in a lakeside park. An old man had accidentally fallen into the frozen water and was barely managing to keep his head above the icy surface. Without stopping to think, Zhang stepped on the ice to rescue the man, all of a sudden, the ice broke and she fell into the lake too.

Zhang's mother cried after her, "Don't go! You've just had your period!" But the determined young woman replied, "I'm fine! Don't worry. I can swim!" She grabbed the old man tightly in the icy water and used all of her strength to bring him near the shore. Meanwhile, some bystanders had found a bamboo pole and were able to use it to pull them onto the shore. With timely treatment, the old man has recovered.

Zhang is an auxiliary police officer of the Public Security Bureau of Rushan, Weihai, Shandong province, and also the mother of a 2-year-old child. Afterward, she said it was her instinct and duty to save people, and the successful rescue depended on the joint efforts of the crowd.
