EPQ的全称是Extended Project Qualification，是A-Level课程以外的独立研究项目，涉及到大量写作、计划和自我激励。
最多可以转化成28 UCAS points，相当于A-level的一半。
EPQ若想取得A*，一定要注意选题的特定性和原创，比如医学方面 “Should parents be allowed to genetically change their child’s gender” （是否应该允许父母通过基因改变孩子的性别），心理学方面“Is technology making us more depressed?”（科技让我们更抑郁了吗），历史方面“Was the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki justified?” （轰炸广岛和长崎是否合理），经济学“Should we legalise human organ trade?”（我们是否应该将人体器官交易合法化）。
