#地球日##一起抗击气候危机#今天是全美地球日53周年纪念日。第一个#地球日#始于1970年4月22日，由威斯康星州参议员内尔森（Gaylord Nelson）创立，用来鼓励美国人保护环境。从那时起，它已成为全球保护地球的行动日。

从最初的2000万人到如今已有超过10亿人参与！#地球日#促成了美国国家环境保护局的成立，为我们带来更清洁的空气、更纯净的水和保护得更好的土地。

Happy Earth Day!

Today is the 53rd anniversary of the first nationwide Earth Day, on April 22, 1970. Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson founded  #Earth Day# to encourage Americans to protect the environment. Since then it has become a global day of action to restore our Earth.

Starting with 20 million participants, it now involves over 1 billion people!  #EarthDay# led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency @EPA bringing us cleaner air, purer water, and better protected land.  

Did you know that about 80% of ocean plastic pollution comes from land-based sources?

Did you know forests are home to over 80% of biodiversity on land and there are over🍁60,000🍃 different species of trees in the world? And they may provide one-third of the possible climate solution globally by 2030. 25% of the 🌍’s population depends on forests for food, water, fuel and jobs, but 100% of us benefit from the ecosystem services provided by forests. 

How are you celebrating Earth Day?

This #EarthDay#, make a commitment to reduce, reuse, and recycle. ♻️ Minimize waste by using reusable bags, bottles, and containers, and avoiding single-use plastics. Invest some time to plant a tree, organize a trash clean-up, or build a community garden.  These simple actions have worldwide impacts.
