A short video of a sobbing train attendant explaining to passengers that they are stranded overnight by storms has earned her attention and praise on Chinese social media platforms.
"Because I wear this uniform, I should be responsible for every passenger's safety," attendant Zhao Yang says with a choking voice in the video. "Please do not crowd and be wary of danger."
Heavy rain brought by Typhoon Doksuri forced a train with 976 passengers to halt at Luopoling station in western Beijing on Sunday.
Food and water would be made available to everyone, Zhao says in the video.
The train crew later provided bread, instant noodles, ham and drinking water for the stranded passengers.
According to authorities, all the passengers and crew members have been transferred to safe places as of 1 pm Monday.
