Postdoc Position in Child and Adolescent Development in Clinical Populations
Dr. Yang Hou in the Department of Behavioral Sciences and Social Medicine at Florida State University is searching for two post-doctoral scholars. Dr. Hou’s lab (https://med.fsu.edu/houlab/home) seeks to comprehensively understand how environmental factors (i.e., sociocultural, family, school, and peer) and biological factors (e.g., genetic disease) influence child and adolescent development in socioemotional, behavioral, cognitive, academic, and health domains. She has published over 30 peer-reviewed papers in top-tiered journals such as American Psychologist and Child Development. Her research has garnered multiple international awards, for example, Rising Star from Association for Psychological Science and Early Career Outstanding Paper Award from American Psychological Association.
工作职责
Job Responsibilities:
The postdocs will primarily work on projects investigating the cognitive, academic, behavioral, and socioemotional development of children (ages 2-18) with neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1). See Dr. Hou’s lab website for more detailed descriptions of the projects. Primary responsibilities include data analysis and manuscript preparations. The postdocs will also have opportunities to develop their own projects and participate in grant writing.

Required Qualifications
A doctoral degree in developmental, clinical, quantitative psychology, or other relevant social science fields;
Expertise in advanced multivariate statistical analysis such as time-varying effect modeling, latent profile analysis, structural equation modeling, and/or multilevel modeling;
Proficiency with R.

Preferred Qualifications
Experiences in integrative data analysis and/or meta-analysis;
Experiences or familiarity with neuropsychological tests (e.g., IQ tests, academic achievement tests, Behavior Assessment System for Children, Conner’s Rating Scales);
Expertise in child and adolescent development, particularly in cognitive, academic, behavioral, and socioemotional domains;
Strong academic writing skills and communication skills.

Flexible start date between January to September 2023.
