For cutting you can use any small sharp knife. Grafting knives are nice, but you don’t need a grafting knife. A pocket knive, utility/razor knife or small kitchen knife can work just fine. Just make sure they are sharp. For wrapping you can use various kinds of tape or strips of plastic bag. In traditional grafting, strips of fiber like raffia or lengths of string were used and then covered with clay or grafting wax. To seal the graft and the scion from drying out, use latex paint or glue such as elmers white glue or the equivalent wood glue. Tags can be made from aluminum food cans like soda cans, cat food can lids and sardine can lids with the tree names scratched in. You can learn how to graft using these simple material and tools and buy fancier stuff later if you think you need it or start grafting a lot. You can spend 17.00 on a victorinox grafting knife with one blade, but you could also buy a full swiss army knife for only a dollar or two more which will do your grafting and a make a good everyday pocket knife.
