there are kind of different approaches to the ziji in chinese
here is some of the refence i was looking at..
sorry..i did the term paper a year ago... so i cannot find all the bib i was
using right away

I am interested in speech prosody,speech perception,acoustic phonetics
lexical tone system....stuff like that...

I like phonology and phonetics too. But people keep telling me that I'd better
study computational ling. or cognitive ling....
Anyway, I plan on getting a master's degree in linguistics first, focusing on
either phonolgy or syntax.

like that.

I'm taking a course in neuroling this semester. Actually it sort of bored me.
There's not much theoretic work, in stead, you need to know how to design
experiments and do statistic things.

dont hate statistic...
i used to hate statistic...a natrual feeling towards numbers of all students
in
liberal arts...hehe
but this semester... i found statistic is useful and necessary...
well..statistic is just a method... as long as it is a method... it is useful
in one way and shit in another...

I'm not saying that I hate statistics. But it's very technich, I mean, if you
spend too much time on this kind of things, you will probably lose something
more important.
I used to be an engineering student and I'm not really afraid of the math work
that occurs in linguistics. However, I prefer formal areas of linguistics,
such as phonology, syntax and semantics, though I may not choose to study them
in the future.

emm, I hate statistic too....maybe it is not hatred but more like timidity....
But I feel it is necessary too....I am reading something about language
pedagogy these days.....got too much things to do with experiment design and

我从小数学就不好。。。高中总是数学考不及格。。
现在学统计总是勾起以前的惨痛记忆阿。。。

现在神经语言学完全就是靠这个来找相关性(或者准确说是想好了相关性再用这个证明)

嗯，很多第二语言习得的研究也是这样。觉得其实大部分的实验都有太多不可控制因素，
接下来的统计也就没太大的有效性。
有时候觉得还是比较喜欢语言本体研究，但是那些弄多了，有点越来越转牛角尖。
读了这么久，越来越无所适从。
